I am sure everyone is getting Tired of seeing all my Army lists pop up. I took the advice from one of my earlier posts went through 5th ed Rule book, Went through my Tau rule book and I think I might have a winning team here. Please let me know what you think.

i would try to get some devilfish for those fire warriors. Fish of Fury is very effective

I am only using the devil fish for the scout move for the Pathfinders to get them into cover then I will shoot the devil fish back to go pick up the firewarriors. I did not want to waste extra points for devil fish. It does not leave enough guns to do anything if I did.

I appreciate your devilfish frugality, way to utilize the new 5th Ed transport rules.

What does blacksun filter do again?

How do you like the '88s? are they typically earning their points back or no?

Interested to see how you do with this one, hopefully a little better.

Remember you missions, sacrifice your troops as speedbumps when you need to, hide firewarriors in devilfish for last turn objective contesting in others.

Blacksun filter helps in night fighting. It's the equivalant to a SM or IG search light.

I am actually starting to appreciate the XV88's. I like the combo of 3 XV88's and two Railheads. Gives ya 5 railguns of which two of them have big pie plates and the other 3 are TL.

Blacksun Filter doubles the distance of your night fighting rolls. So basically its (2d6 x 3)2. So if you rolled a 8 you would normally only see 24" with the Blacksun filter your sight is 48"

Only problem with my combo of 3 XV88's and 2 Railheads is the overwhelming 640 points that just those 5 things cost but they can make their points back well I think.

thats some FIREPOWER!

i love kroot in a tau list.. it can really distract an enemy and keep your big guns around longer... wish i had more to tell ya but ive never played tau (though ive always had a little thing for em!)

I see what you're tryin to do there JT but in the end I think you'll be caught by Turn 3 if not sooner. What are your expendables? The loss of either of your APCs would leave you hanging. You really need flawless moves and results with your XV8s. Dont assume your battlefield and plan for the worst... we defo need a game.

I don't believe in expendable units, It just doesn't seem in Tau character to make expendable units but the 6 man squads of regular fw are my supposed expendable units.

Played in the 'ard boyz today against Tau. This guy use 2 squads of 20 kroot (60 attacks per unit on charge) and outflanked with them. Worked really good for him.
