Ork colors

Hey im about to try and re-paint my orks do you have any ideas on what colors i should use? i liked the idea of a red paint os the skin colour but that apparently taken.

Priestley had a deep red base with grey to white highlights. Fancy

Found some Desert Orks as well using some Searchfu. Purty

I think they are pretty ugly/badly painted. Just my 2 cents.

Well, Cal, what do you want your orks to be. Last time I checked you wanted to by Goff's (right?), so start with basic Goff colors, namely blacks and greys with green skin.

black blue and red (if it is at all dark) will be bad choices.

Most Ork armor is dark leather, so there will be no contrast.

I stay stick with the regular green, and do face paint in differing levels. Say blue for deff skulls (i think) or red for evil sunz.

Sticking to the tried and true if you know/care little for color theory etc will mean you have a decent looking army.

i am thinking of painting my orks like darklings from the darkness comics and makeing them like a biker gang

It wouldn't be the first time a bunch of Deff Skulls painted themselves completely blue. Or if you want some variety, you can go Blood Axes and jsut give them a bunch of mismatching camoflage.
