| | Well while on my way back from Baltimore from Gamesday (which was good and I got a lot of stuff) me and my friends were talking about fluff and I told my friend about the twist about Legion (which I have signed by Dan Abnet now!!!) and he said that is wasn't technically true since it was some ramdom author. Now I know this is stupid since my friend is always just a douche about this type of thing but just to make sure.....does black libarary count as canon fluff? |

| If it was one of the standalone novels then yea i would take it with a grain of salt. But it seems to me that GW wants the series to be a cornerstone to the game. Something that they can use as a tool to inspire future players for the next decade.
That being said, have they screwed up in the past. heh, yea... There was a short story back in the day that was supposed to portray Ragnar of the space wolves and his squad doing recon on a tyranid ship. During the story his entire squad gets killed off. the problem? Well, the problem is that later when the Ragnar series came out they used the same character names and took an entirely different direction with them all. |

| Is the story you are talking about, that one from Let The Galaxy Burn? Just wanting to know, because I've always wondered about it, that sarge's name sounded familiar at least. _________________ W-L Space Wolves 15-4 Eldar 6-2 Tallarn Imperial Guard 0-1

| well the thing is I went to a seminmar** about Black Libarary at Gamesday and Dan Abnet started talking about Legion (possibly all books, he just used Legion as his example) he had to go to basically a professional 40k historian to get cleared for his ideas before writing the book.
Actually it turned out that the twist at the end of legion was GW planned not Dan's idea. They actually told him they had planned that since the beginning. |

| Carl_Dillan's got it right. The series is supposed to be one of the cornerstones for the fluff. In the new WD, read the section about how their doing the fluff, and it says just about that they are going to rely on the authors (under their direction) to relate the Horus Heresy to the public. _________________ Insanity is only measured by those around you.
